You haven’t reviewed any juice and smoothie bars. Reading has 3 of them. A good place to start would be Vibe in the Broad St Mall. Maybe you could do a comparison piece on all 3 of them
I’m afraid I’m primarily a restaurant reviewer so that wouldn’t really be my bag. I would suggest you review them all and pitch it to Alt Reading, but I see from your email address that you work for Vibe so maybe it wouldn’t be the most impartial piece…
I’ve only just discovered your website – thanks. We will refer to it in future I’m sure! WE live 30 mins out of Reading but visit relatively often. You are a very impressive reviewer, speaking as someone who has devoured AA Gill, Giles Coren, Fay M etc over many years. Your style reminds me somewhat of Andy Hayler (thats a compliment)
One question though – any reason why you did not review MyAlaCarte? Dodgy name I know but we have had a couple of pretty good meals there.
That’s lovely to read, Peter, and very high praise (although Hayler really isn’t my bag, I’m afraid). I had always held off reviewing MyaLacarte but now it’s under new management I really should add it to my list.
I don’t know how Hayler copes with so much OTT food! But an interesting read once in a while. Didn’t know Myalacarte was under new management, going tomorrow so that will be an interesting comparison – have been three times previously over last two years or so I guess. .
